It is a wonderful place to be,
To view the world through the imagination of a child,
To enjoy the brilliance of a rainbow;
Dew on an exquisitely woven web;
A raindrop on a flower petal;

Within the Faerielands there is no time, so you can take your time and explore as you wish. Follow the fairies, and they shall bring you to one aspect of this world and then to another. There is plenty of time to Dance with the Faeries, Explore what hides in the Shadows, and join in the Great feasts of FaeryLand Underhill.

Acrylic Painting on Canvas 20" x 16"

The face in the tree is me.
I've put all my favorite elements in this painting.

Mushrooms, crystals, bubbles, water, waterfalls, a tree spirit, a happy fairy and sun rays.

The tea house gallery at Binna Burra was having an art show, as Beechmont has more artists per capita of population. The local artists were invited. The conditions for the show (as there usually are) were that the art had to depict the rainforest or australian environment as Binna Burra is located right in the rainforest. They call it the 'green behind the gold'.

A number of paintings were taken down to the newspaper by the curator of the art show to be chosen for the media advertising of the show and the newspaper articles.
This painting being one of them.

About a week later, I was called to explain that although they were happy to hang my art, they did not want any fairies....even if they were fairies in the rainforest. Could I please bring the frogs.
Grrr! I had already sold about 600 prints of this painting from my website ...mostly in the USA.
So I decided I wouldn't go in the Art show.

This was how it was back then in Australia. Hang a fairy painting in a real gallery...No way! (Unless of course its a hundred year old fairy painting)

The very next day the Newspaper came out and my painting had been the one chosen by them for the newspaper article.
So guess what, my fairy paintings went in as well as my pegasus paintings. I didn't sell the paintings in the show (thank goodness!) but I sold a stack of prints from my website after it.
